College-level coursework taken at an institution recognized by a specific country’s Minister of Education or at regionally accredited U.S. institutions is eligible for transfer to Mayville State University. Depending on your chosen major, not all transferred courses are degree applicable. Courses which transfer to the university, but do not apply toward your chosen program, will count toward the required credit totals to earn a bachelor’s or associate’s degree, those degrees will be recognized.

Mayville State University’s family atmosphere lets students make lifelong friendships and have remarkable leadership opportunities. Students enjoy plentiful opportunities to get involved on campus. With small class sizes, students get to know everyone, including their professors, on a personal level while having the opportunity to be involved in numerous activities.

Mayville State’s beautiful 60-acre campus with 17 buildings is found in the small city of Mayville, located in eastern North Dakota, just 11 miles west of I-29 on ND Highway 200 West. International airports in Grand Forks and Fargo are 35 and 55 minutes away, respectively.

Set in the rich farmland of the Red River Valley, the twin communities of Mayville and Portland (population 2,600 combined) offer a movie theater, golf course, parks, an indoor hockey arena, restaurants, churches, and other recreational facilities. These highly supportive communities feature a business district three blocks away from campus that offers opportunities for part-time jobs. Fargo and Grand Forks, the largest cities in the region, provide opportunities for big-name entertainment, shopping, and other fun.

Mayville State University is the nation’s first tablet PC notebook computer campus. Each full-time student is issued a tablet PC that is used to enhance learning in and out of the classroom. Students can participate in everything from drama to music to varsity athletics. Opportunities for involvement include student government, choir, band, speech and theater, intramural sports, professional clubs, internships, on-campus jobs, and more. Varsity sports at Mayville State include basketball, volleyball, and softball for women, and basketball, football, and baseball for men. Mayville State competes in the Association of Independent Institutions (AII) of the NAIA. The campus wellness center allows all students opportunities to be active.

TOEFL or ESL Programs
Mayville State University’s code number for the TOEFL test is #6478. Students must score 520 on the paper-based test, 190 on the computer-based test, or 68 on the internet-based version to be considered for admission.
